Nikon has announced the release of the J3 camera and the S1, slated for release sometime in February. The $650 USD J3 features a 73-point AF array, 15 fps continuous shooting, hybrid autofocus, and middling ISO 6400 maximum light sensitivity. It’s built-in 14.2-megapixel CX format sensor and new Expeed 3A processor also allow it to accomplish Slow View, which allows users to capture 40 frames in about a second then play them back in a slow-mo animation loop.

The S1, the first in the maker’s lower-priced S series, will feature specs largely similar to the J3, but with 10.1 megapixels instead of 14.2, 1080p video capture, and a GUI-based mode selector. It is priced at $500 USD.

To accompany these new cameras, Nikon has also unveiled two new 1 mount lenses. The first is a 6.7–13mm f/3.5–5.6 model at $500 USD, while the second is a an all-in-one 10–100mm f/4–5.6 one at $550 USD. Look for the new cameras and lenses soon at official Nikon retailers.
